Doug's Graduation

Friday 4/26-
Scott had off work friday so we were able to go yardsaleing in the morning before we left for SVU for Doug's graduation. So Scott found a motorized scooter and talked me into letting him get it. It was 10 bux so I figured I could let him have it, since I won't let him have a motorcycle. Now he'll have a little toy to tinker with.
Doug's graduation dinner was that night and he was recognized for graduating with honors and being a part of the "Who's Who in Colleges (or something like that)".

Doug being recognized.

The next morning we attended Doug's graduation! It was fantastic. All the speakers did fantastic jobs including Mitt Romney. I felt really motivated after the whole thing and really feel like I should go get my masters. The Choir was also amazing, they sang a rendition of "Shenandoah".

Cheerios and Peanutbutter

So Scott and I sat down for Family Home Evening last night. We compared all the different places for lawschool (ND, KS, TX, NM), and we ruled out Texas completely. Sad, but most we had too many cons than pros. So that is completely out. We realized the only reason we liked New Mexico was because it was highly ranked (which is great but it didn't have all the programs Scott wanted), so we are leaning away from that one. So that leaves Kansas and North Dakota. They both are tied in what they offer. But North Dakota is cheaper but Kansas is warmer and has a better LDS/Family community.  So we have been back and forth on those. We both feel pretty good about Kansas and I have a feeling that is gonna win out in the end, but we'll see. North Dakota or Kansas!

I got the job at the Message Clinic....they don't seem that organized though because they were supposed to call me and let me know about my schedule this week and whenever I call the person is not there. Hmm.. Oh  well.

Our baby squirrels keep getting out of their cage and getting into trouble. But they are adorable. Today Julie and I gave  them a taste of peanut butter with cheerios and they loved it!

Good Start to the weekend :-)

So I was offered two jobs this week! One was a front desk position at a chiropractic facility and I would be doing billing. Pay was absolute crap for the work load and was only willing to give me three hours a week. Yeah...not worth it. I told him this and he upped his offer by a dollar an hour and gave me 2 more hours a week. Haha, that would pay for pretty much just my gas. I didn't get back to him though, I think I will just turn him down. I did get a call from the Message clinic that I interviewed at and they said I could have the job. I however, want to ask them what hours I would be working exactly because they weren't too clear. (I think I work evening hours all week even Saturday.

This afternoon my mother had her class's art show at "The Gallery" in Harrisburg. She did a fantastic job. It was fun to see all the pieces.

Walking to the building, it was raining and mom didn't want to mess up her hair. Haha. She's adorable.

So proud of her, she's so talented.

There was a cute little courtyard with benches and plants.

Stepping outside in the courtyard for little, it got crowded in the gallery.

After the art show/reception, we went home and quickly got ready for the adult semi-formal. They were using the decorations from the prom so it was pretty neat. It was held in our old church building out near Gettysburg.

We had so much fun dancing and acting crazy.

So I was pretty proud of the fact that my shoes matched my dress perfectly! Have had them forever. :-)

Haha, Scott has a halo.

My mom made her dress for the dance! She's so perty. We also got that material at a yardsale for not even a buck!

So my dad rescued some baby squirrels so we are taking care of them currently. They are adorable!

Dad gave them both a bath and let them warm up in his pocket.

Packages!

Today I had an interview with a message therapy clinic. I was asked to come in tomorrow to shadow for 2 hours to see if it's a good fit for me and everyone. I also have an interview at a chiropractic clinic tomorrow morning. Hoping something sticks and I can be making money so we can save up.

Scott got his packet from Washburn today and the other schools are being so slow!!

I got a package today! It was my birthday present from my parents, they actually got me a guitar! It is gorgeous and I love it!!!!!

I love the inlay!!!!!

Has the phases of the moons on the neck in teal/aqua inlay. So perty.

I'm in love with this guitar. Thank you mom and dad!!!!!! Such an amazing gift! You guys spoiled me this year!

24th Birthday

Saturday (April 13th)-
My parents took me bowling for my birthday and the Riggs' came along. Then we hung out had pizza and chatted.

Sophie got me a sparkley purse, she's modeling it for me. She's so cute.

Sunday (April 14th, my birthday)-

Scott brought me a delicious breakfast in bed! Steak, eggs, mushrooms, strawberries, grapes and orange juice, WOW. He had to help me finish it....just ignore my bed head.

I went to church, it was very nice. Very good lessons and a great testimony meeting. After church, both Scott and I were called as nursery leaders. Then we went home. Scott worked very hard on this beautiful array of fruit desserts since I'm not crazy about cake. For my actual cake he made a cheesecake pudding fruit trifle type thing. :-) He is so sweet and thoughtful. I'm such a lucky gal.
Grandma and Grandpa Speck came over and joined us for the evening.

Cute idea Scott! Fondu dipped fruits in apples.

Dragon Fruit! Which is actually quite good dipped in cheese cake/fruit dip

Stacey Got me a Sushi pillow! It's freekin' Cute!

Holding my presents. That question mark pillow was from my parents, it says on it that I can expect a package tomorrow "What can it be?". Haha. The purse was from Sophie, the sushi pillow from Stacey, and the necklace I am wearing was from grandma and grandpa. Thanks everyone for a nice birthday. You are all so great!
