FHE

So I was in charge of FHE tonight and to start out with a "lesson", We watched this motivating video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l70e1TfN34w . I chose this to remind Scott and Myself to just slow down and prioritize. We've been so stressed with getting everything into place to move wherever Scott gets into lawschool and trying to come up with a backup plan if he does not and working to pay bills. It's easy to get caught up and not enjoy every day and tiny moments that can be had throughout the day that can really build a relationship. At my current job there's this man who sends out daily quotes in e-mails to people and this last one was "Don't just count the days, make the days count". And I started thinking to how I come home and check facebook and serf around on the web a little and what starts out as just a quick thing will easily turn into an hour then another. With that time I could've finished the book I started or the painting sitting in my art room, learn a song, make a lovely meal for Scott, choreograph a dance, make a book, etc. Then when Scott comes home if I'm all immersed in the comp or my ipad that I am not giving enough time to him, and missing out on previous activities.
After our lesson, we snacked on boneless chicken wings while doing MadLibs! It was so much fun! There were so many funny ones but this was our favorite:

Sunday Blues

My poor hubby is sick. I hate seeing Scott uncomfortable or in pain. :-/ I feel a little ill too but I'm hoping it's just a little thing. If we get the stomach flu I'll be so annoyed. I'm ready for spring and fresh air and being able to do outdoor activities.

Today it snowed.

That groundhog better be right.

Love my parents

I love my mom and dad so much, words just can't describe my appreciation for them. I am so blessed to have such supportive, strong, loving parents who are always there for me. Thank you two for everything you do for me and for teaching me work ethic and morals. I owe so much to you two.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

I woke up this morning and made breakfast for Scott, though he was staying oddly quite through all of it and didn't come out of the room. When I walked back into the room, music was playing (a playlist he put together for me), and I saw "I Love You" written out in candy on the bed and a note saying "For tonight". Under the note was a jewelry box with PENGUIN jewelry in it!

After he left for work, I went to PHEAA and heart attacked his car.
Then I headed over to my parent's to drop off Mom, Dad, and Grandma's Valentine.

I've been working on scrap booking papers, tickets, pics, and letters from when Scott and I were dating. So I did that for the rest of the day until Scott came home and we both got ready for what he had planned for, "a surprise" (but i was pretty certain he was taking me out for dinner).

So as I was getting ready, Scott would periodically come into the room with a different style of facial hair. I love being married to him cuz he sure does know how to make me laugh and have fun. I wish I would've gotten a pic of the Goatee one, he actually looked good with it. Here were a few:
Side-burn

                                                      Amish

My mom showed up during all this with beautiful fresh flowers and a box of chocolates for V-day.
It was nice to see her and I felt very special. :-) I love having fresh flowers in the house, but I realized...I do not have any vases. So I had to get creative.

Milk jugs were the closest we had

Then I just decorated them with fabric I had laying around.

Great addition to my scrap booking table! :-)

Thank you mom! I love you so much and I'm so grateful for you and dad and all the  love and support you've given me throughout my life.

Then we were off to the "surprise" Scott had planned. When we pulled up I recognized it immediately  We had been wanting to go to this Greek place for a while called Hellenic Kousina. It was fun because there is this cheese you can get that's drenched in brandy or something like that and they bring it to you flaming, and then you put it out with lemon juice squeezed from a fresh lemon. We didn't get that one but several people did and it looked so neat. We got Pikilia, which is apparently just an array of a bunch of things, meat on sticks, these cheesy spinach pastry things, and Dolmades (flavored rice and herbs wrapped in grape leaves). We also got fresh veggie salad with feta cheese and some sort of flavored rice. It was all mouthwateringly delicious.
Outside was very beautiful . They have a little patio-like garden area with a Greek statue in the middle under a canopy of lights. If it wasn't so dang cold I would've eaten out there.
After everything we had our own little dance. We danced to things like "Find Me A Baby" by Josh Turner and chowed down on the chocolates momma gave us.

Happy V-Day from us to you!

Mac N' Cheese

HOOORAY! I got a job. Only Temporary though (I figured I'd go through a Temp agency given my situation). It starts the 25th and I will be in a call center that is set up for a month (until end of March) to enroll people into benefit packages. The pay is decent as well. :-) But after March it's back to job searching. Once people find out I'm only here for another few months they turn the other way. Here's hopin' I find another temp job after this one. I've also been babysitting and busing tables on the side to make ends meet. I get food from the restaurant when I work there so Scott has some nice Thai dinners every once in a while. Poor guy, livin' off of Mac N' Cheese for the most part.
I am so excited for Scott! We finally get to SEND in COMPLETED applications the end of this week!! Money is tight though, so we're hoping the fees won't kill us and we have enough money to apply to all the schools Scott is interested in.

Chinese New Year (Feb 9th)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!...again

We started a tradition with our friends (They are Chinese) of celebrating the Chinese New year. It's really neat to see all the different dishes they serve. It is apparently a tradition/good luck to serve everything whole, so they kept even the shrimp whole with their eyes, etc.

Last year they served frogs, they weren't bad at all! Frogs are actually pretty tasty if cooked right.

Fun times. Thanks to our good friends.

February 7th Scott's 27th Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUBBY!

Scott is 27!

He had been hinting he wanted a Mexican dish for a while (which I'm the worst at) so I made some creamy zesty  chicken enchiladas for dinner.

His birthday cake (upside-down pineapple), you should have seen it when all the candles were lit!

Since our first date was at Lagoon, and the Ferris wheel was one of my favorite memories of that day, it sort of represents  the start of Scott and I. So I thought this card was just perfect! :-)

I got him a new hoodie :-)

After cake and presents we had a mini dance party, which was fun. Then my parents called and told us they were coming over.

They gave Scott a "22 cleaning snake", Baklava from this Greek restaurant we've been wanting to try, and a gift card to that restaurant.

Dad gave Scott a gun and cleaning kit, then took. Scott to a local gun shop for his birthday (I love seeing them all excited together about guns)

Then Scott and I read some Mistborne (we're almost done!) and played some Halo together, we are slowly trying to make it through the first game.

White Tulips

Today started out as just an ordinary day for me. I started the day stressed out looking for jobs, then decided to chill out by playing "little sheep" (I have a fake sheep farm on my i-pad, it's quite addicting...and calming ). And then did chores (laundry, dishes, filing, etc). I was finishing sweeping the kitchen when I heard Scott get home. He walked up the stairs holding these beautiful white tulips! I thanked him, put the tulips on the table and finished sweeping. When I turned around there was a bag of my favorite raspberry chocolates on the table and something glittery. When I looked closer I realized it was identical to the jewelry from my wedding (I had  left my jewelry at the hotel we stayed in our first night). I must be turning into a sap because when I saw the jewelry I cried, I was so touched that he had been so thoughtful.  It was such a sweet gift for our engagement anniversary (a few days late, but both of us are late ;-p)

He is the best.

February 4th

One Year Ago,  Scott asked for my hand in marriage.  I am so grateful for our life together and the happiness he brings me. I am definitely a happy girl :-).

Scott and I went back to the place he proposed and made another mural of our first year of marriage to celebrate our one year anniversary of the proposal.

If you want to watch the proposal, I have it on my very first blog post.

Groundhog Days

Happy Groundhog's Day ya'll!!!

We decided to actually celebrate in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania this year. Dad, Mom, Scott and I arrived in Clearfield (where our hotel was) the night before. My Aunt and Uncle also came to Clearfield and stayed in the hotel across from us. We all went, Jim joined us, to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub that night for dinner. The Pub is famous for their "Challenge burgers", ranging from 2 lbs to 50 lbs!!! We decided to tackle the 3 lbs challenger, all four of us couldn't even finish it! It was bigger than our heads! The patty was so thick and they used actually two loafs of bread instead of buns. It was sooo yummy too.

We tried to get as much sleep as we could that night but we had to wake up at 4:30AM to leave by 5:00AM. We got to Punxsutawny and rode the buses to Gobbler's Knob

We got there just in time for the fireworks! They were absolutely spectacular. Then we all sang and danced and cheered until 7:28, when they pulled Phil out of his stump and had him pick the scroll that predicted our weather. Early Spring Baby!!! :-)

Standing at the Gobbler's Knob entrance archway before the fun!
There were so many fun hats and even a person that wore a whole groundhog costume, which probably kept them very warm.

It was so freezing cold and packed, but so much fun. I just wish people would be a little more considerate and not smoke in crowds.
After the fun we got back on the buses and arrived back into town. And there's a funny story with a woman, a cane, and a child, but I might add that later (I'm getting tired).

After the fun, when it was light and you can see the sign.

There were a bunch of these painted groundhogs around the town, we got pics in front of the dollar bill bank one.

As you can see it was very cold, it started out as like 0 degrees in the morning then went up to about 7.
Then off to breakfast back in Clearfield, the Dutch Pantry Restaraunt, which was super cute.

Super delicious breakfast an I want to get those glasses for my kitchen. :-)

They had these beautiful paintings on the windows of the restaurants.

Of course the guys had to go to the gun store (Jim had suggested) then we walked around town. The guys went to an army surplus/gun store and the girls went to a bakery and antique store.

Then we headed home. We drove a ways and the guys saw another gun shop and of course we had to stop ;-p.

pretty icicles

Dad and Scott going into their third gun store in one day. I'm glad they had fun , they were like kids at a candy store. :-)

When we got home we had some lovely WARM chicken soup (Thanks Mom, it was delicious) and watched groundhogs day as a family (our celebration with grandma, because she could not come on the trip).

:-)  GREAT WEEKEND!
