Hurricane Sandy (Frankenstorm)

My heart goes out to all those affected by the hurricane. Its great to know that relief teams are always ready to help.
We weren't really that affected by the storm, thank goodness. We just had really strong winds and a lot of rain, some flooding, and bad driving conditions.
Monday I was sent home early from work because of the conditions and all the patients were canceling their apts. Scott had his work cancelled as well so we were able to spend the day together. :-)
We got ready for a possible power outage and then baked some yummy dinner and then a pumpkin roll and vanilla strawberry roll. After that we carved our pumpkins because the power was still on. Then read some more Mistborn together. We had a lovely date night.

Trip to SVU to visit my brother

Saturday morning (10/27/12) Scott and I traveled down to Virginia to visit my brother for the day. When we got there we went to this HUMONGOUS corn maze! It took us forever to finish but we got through. I had a blast with Scott.

Then we met up with Doug and his girlfriend Delaney (who is such a doll). We walked around this beautiful park and took pictures. Then we went out for dinner.

We then got ready for the dance and had a blast. I enjoyed being all crazy with Doug, Delaney, and Scott.

Scott and I left Sunday.

Ward Halloween Party (Friday 26, 2012)

Scott and I were in charge of a "Room (we used the coat rack corner)" for the Ward trick or treat. We decorated it and set up a game. Scott and I went at Buttercup and Wesley from "The Princess Bride" so our game was the "Iocane powder game". We had toys and candy and would show the kids what was under each cup before mixing them up. Then they chose, they won either way (because there was something good under each cup) but they tried for what they wanted. It was a very fun party. My dad was a chili cook-off judge and my grandma did a dance number haha. It was so fun.

We looked for costumes at a costume shop but they were all like 40 dollars each! So we went to good old Salvation Army (I made my dress our of a table cloth and cheapo curtain, since fabric is so expensive). I made my outfit for about 5 dollars. Scotts was a little more expensive about 10 dollars because we had to get the pants, shirt, head wrap, and sash.

Why must the weekend come and go so fast?

Saturday Scott and I ran errands all day and picked up some pumpkins for carving! :-) Then we came home and watched some of Princess Bride while getting ready for our friend's wedding. Doug came up from college this weekend and joined us for the reception. It was a beautiful black, white, and red chess themed wedding. Didn't have my camera with me so all the pictures are very blurry because they were taken with a phone.

Apple butter!....and crab cakes....

10/13/12
Saturday

We had the opportunity to go to the Apple Harvest Festival in Biglerville, Pennsylvania. It was a very pleasant day, though Scott and I weren't able to find my sisters and friend, with whom we were supposed to meet up with. There were so many fun things there, like tractor square dancing, we got to watch an artist make chain saw art, funnel cakes, animals, crafts, etc.
After the festival we stopped by the Historic Round Barn (where we had our wedding reception) and we bought some butternut squash and roasted pecan syrup (which we left at the cash register...bleh).

10/14/12
Sunday
I woke up with some neck and shoulder pain, then reached for something and "pinched a nerve". I was bed ridden all Sunday. Scott was such a good husband and took care of me and helped me move when I needed to move. He even read to me the rest of the day, we are currently reading through the Mistborn series together.

10/15/12
Monday
Had to call off work because the pain was still acute. My boss (the head PT at the clinic) told me he was sending someone over to pick me up so he could do some mobilizations on me. So I did that then came back and rested until Scott came home. When I got up I noticed I could get up on my own! And I was able to move my head! Dang, physical therapy does work. Haha.

10/16/12
Tuesday
I still wasn't able to go to work today but my boss had me come in and he did some mobilizations on me and sent me on my way. I have the pain still but it's a dull pain so I can move around! My ROM (range of motion) is not 100 percent, but hey! Only took two and a half days of recovery to be able to move. That's pretty good. He wants me to come in to work tomorrow...this should be fun, but I was getting pretty bored.

BEST PRESENT EVER!

My sister gave Scott and I tickets to a concert to see Brad Paisley, Scotty McCreery, and the Band Perry! That was so nice of her, she even got us really great seats close to the action. It was neat because it was a first for both of us. We never had been to a concert like that before.

Beach trip with the fam.

Scott and I took a long weekend (just took Monday off) to go to the beach with my fam. It was so lovely. I enjoyed being able to unwind and just spend time with family. I had the awesome opportunity to go deep sea fishing our last day there. I had never gone that far out away from land!  I caught two fish big enough to keep for eating, it was so much fun. Here is a link to a video of us on the boat my sister posted on you-tube if you're interested in seeing :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BARBf1a-uKU&feature=youtu.be  She also used me in a music video she did (I had to act like I was drown, but pretty sure I actually was ;-p...made it more convincing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbvYDLtbODs&feature=plcp

(Video and such to come)

Gone dancin' with a hot date.

So Scott and I have been wanting to go country dancing for a while now, well....maybe mostly me. And we heard of this place called "Winner Circle Saloon". I heard many great things about the country dancing there from many people (especially me co-workers), so I decided to try it. Scott and I went on Friday night (Sept 29). It wasn't what we expected. Very small dance floor and everyone was doing the same steps. There was a different dance for each song (a line dance and a couple dance). It was somewhat boring, even if we knew all the dances....no room for improv. We squeezed ourselves onto the robotic dance floor a few times and did our own thing until pushed off. Though it wasn't that great of a dance floor, there was a live band and I enjoyed the night with Scott.
