My Cousin Got Married!

7/27

I find my friday's are excruciatingly painful. I have a half day of work friday, so I get home around noon/oneish  and run errands or catch up on project. Doesn't sound bad huh? It would be wonderful if it weren't for the fact that by friday I have a huge build up of missing my Scott....so it's hard to concentrate or be motivated. All I want to do is wait for 9:30PM, when I can see him. Today, however, I was extremely happy to find that Scott had taken a shift differential so he was coming home around 5PM. I was so happy to have a little time to talk with him before we headed over to my cousin's open house to celebrate her marriage (not her reception, that's tomorrow).

PS. Our garden is producing and growing! :-)

These are supposed to turn orangeish yellow, so we can't pick them yet.

I ran outside and had to pick these cuties before the storm blew them off the plant, they were so good!

7/28

Today I was so happy to do a 6 mile run with my mom. I Love going running with her, it's so refreshing. But I've been out of the habit for so long I got quite winded and had to stop a few times. I need to get back on the band wagon of running a race in every state of the US.
Scott and I went shopping today for things we needed, it was nice to walk around and just talk with him and not feel rushed. We tried a new sushi place as well called Sapura's....not bad, and cheap...but I have to say I wasn't impressed. Our favorite is still Miso's. We then went back to our place and caught up on laundry and chores and such.

Tonight was my cousin's second wedding reception. Scott and I had a lot of fun, it's nice to get all dressed up and feel pretty for a date. I wore this beautiful red dress that my mom had made me (I had mentioned I didn't have a good modest classy dress for fancy dates, and she took it upon herself to make me one), I love her so much. She is so selfless and such a lovely woman. So, I got all ready and Scott came home with a surprise. He got me a set of pearl earrings, necklace, and bracelet. I felt so lovely and special. That man spoils me, I Love him so much. He is so good to me. I was on cloud nine tonight. We enjoyed the beautiful reception and company, but I couldn't help but be in my own little world with Scott. I just enjoyed every second I had with him. (Yes I know that sounds way too sappy, but it's true. ;-p)

Congrats Christopher and Becky!

A Spontaneous Weekend

FRIDAY 7/20:
So today after work, I received a call from my mom. Her and my brother had decided to make a spontaneous trip to VA to attend an art reception my aunt was working. It was so much fun and great to see Laura.
These are the stairs that my mom used to run after high school.

Laura and mom

After the art reception, we walked around the city.

Ew gross! ;-p

Perty mom

We saw a huge crowd outside a restaurant. Apparently Christian Bale was at the restaurant and drove away on a motorcycle. I got a few pics but couldn't see him.
Then we turned around and traveled back to PA, fun night.

My brother is crazy

SATURDAY and SUNDAY 7/21-7/22:

Saturday morning I couldn't sleep in, so I jumped on the internet. I saw one of my friends posted that she just got back from the Palmyra Pageant. Scott and I had wanted to go but for some reason I thought it was in April. I checked the website and it said the last showing was that night! I asked Scott if he was up to go last minuet (it's a 5 or 6ish hour drive  away). He wasn't too thrilled at first but agreed it was a fun opportunity, because we don't know if we'll have another opportunity to go. Our trip was quite the adventure...from not being able to find a gas station in the middle of the night to our car battery dieing to protestors to our car making funny noises and running low on oil.....to having a wonderfully fantastic time with my husband! :-)

Anniversary (officially one year of being together)

July 14th: Scott and I hosted our very first "party" at our apartment. We had a few people (family and friends) over for treats and a game night. We played Rummy (sp?); my dad won and I got second place.

I also made myself a dress (earlier that day) with some material I've had since I was like 14. Thanks to Mom, I have a working sewing machine. I've missed sewing so much. I've already started 5 more projects! :-)

July 17th: Scott and I have "officially been together" for one year. To celebrate, Scott and I took off work so we could spend the day at Hershey park, we got free tickets from my sis. This is significant because our very first official date was at the Lagoon amusement park in Utah.

We had so much fun, though it was extremely hot! I believe it was 98 degrees and felt like 103 with the humidity, we could hardly breath. Thank goodness for the water park. We brought 5 bottles of water and a big water bottle full of Gatorade, but we went through all of it and were still thirsty.

Scott and I posed for a western picture.
I've always wanted to do one, though we did it at the end so my hair was soaking wet, but it worked out.

After Hershey Park, Scott and I were exhausted and famished! We went to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner (thanks to the PT I worked with, he gave me a gift card). I got an amazing stuffed mushroom topped steak (which was heavenly) and Scott got Ribs. :-) I usually can't eat my whole dinner when I go out, but I packed that thing down!
For "dessert" we had sparkling grape juice, and used our nice "wine glasses" we got for our wedding. We were entertained by the glasses the rest of the evening: (Watch the video)

Sushi and Shoes

On Saturday, Scott and I ran some errands (shoe shopping at the mall). And went out to Sushi for lunch. SOOO good! Working with rich doctors has it's perks! ;-p Since I switched over the the other office location, one of my co-workers got me a sushi gift card to say goodbye, which was sweet of him. We were able to have a feast!

At the mall, they were having a shoe sale at Boscovs, which was were we found our shoes! And for cheap.
We both decided to try Nike's. It's crazy, we got them both for way less than what one pair of shoes would cost us at the other places we looked.

Then dessert and we watched the "Corpse Bride" since Scott had never seen it before.

Fourth of July and Posting Scott and my engagment video

For the fourth of July, Scott and I hung out with my brother and an old friend and his family. It was a lot of fun! We went to the park and swimming after. Then Scott and I had our own little fourth of July with sparklers and catching lightning bugs.
