HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

11/22/12 THANKSGIVING:

We had a lovely day. Scott and I woke up early and made pies for my family's Thanksgiving feast. Scott made pumpkin pie from scratch (from the long neck pumpkins we got from the local farm) and I made Orange Marangue pie (because last year, when I visited west and made it, Scott didn't get to eat any).
My new best friend, I Love this thing! No more fishing for egg shells!

We went over to my parent's house and played croquet with the family (I lost miserably):

Doug brought his girlfriend

Then we hung out with my family for the rest of the day pretty much.

11.23.12 BLACK FRIDAY

Friday morning Scott and I got up (not super early, but early enough) to go black Friday shopping. Scott bought me a point and shoot camera with video for super cheep! I've been wanting one for a while so I didn't have to drag my nice one everywhere. We also got a few little things we needed. We treated it more like a date rather than a shopping trip, people are crazy on black Friday.  I also got my hair cut! I got side swoop bangs, some layers, and a few inches taken off the bottom. Last year when I flew out to visit Scott and his family over thanksgiving, we went black Friday shopping, and we did one of those photo booths in the mall, we kept the tradition this year too. :-)

New blog and ...fun?...weekend

So I'm starting a new blog, I'm not getting rid of this one though. I am starting the new one just for my creative side. This is sortof a journal blog of Scott and I and "Milk and Honey" is a blog of the artsy/crafty things I do (art, dance, crafts, cooking, etc). So If you're interested this is the link (It's still pretty new):

So Saturday was a nice relaxing morning. Scott and I ran errands and had a good time just talking and spending time together. I love weekends because I don't get to see Scott hardly ever during the week. Saturday night we met up with some of my work buddies for a rodeo ("Bull ride mania"). It was really fun! They had some great shows and some crazy cowboys that got trampled a bit. One of the shows was "The Ghost Riders"! I've been wanting to see them in person forever! I didn't bring my camera but here's a link to one of their youtube videos:

And here's another video taken close to where I was sitting of bull hockey:

Anyways, after the rodeo Dustin Lynch had a concert and we all went down into the dirt and had a great time! It was very late though (almost 1AM) so we headed home early. We were about to take the off ramp right before our house when my car died. Yay, I had just got it back from the shop. So we had to get it towed...hopefully it can be fixed.

Sunday was a good day at church (but we were exhausted from staying up so late and from the car troubles). On the way home from church I saw a buck in a field next to the road that was standing there puking blood and looking dazed (definitely had been hit), so I called up my dad to see what he could do. The dear didn't make it so Scott helped my dad field dress it to use the meat. Interesting weekend.....

Beautiful weekend

Saturday was a beautiful day! Perfect day for apple picking. Scott and I had the opportunity to go apple picking (near where I grew up) with my family. It was great to get out in nature and enjoy the beautiful day. We got a load of apples and plan on making mucho applesauce with them.

Saturday night Scott and I had a nice laid back double date with my sister and her boyfriend, Peter. We ended up cooking some no-bakes, ordering pizza, constructing a huge tent in our living room out of sheets and Christmas tree lights, watching the saint (under the tent), and playing board games. It was a fun low key night.

Employment

So,
My current job, in which I work 11 hour days, is murder. Not only am I absolutely overused and underpaid because our cheep boss wants to save money, but I found out I get half my paycheck. I literally make around 800 every 2 weeks and get about 400 of that due to taxes and charges my employer takes out for health benefits which I am apparently not qualified for until I pay 3000 out of my own pocket.  I am getting less than minimum wage. Wow, all the money they've taken away from me could've paid for the things I need done. And there is no way out of this apparently unless I get another employer, which is what I have to do. It's okay though, the job stinks and I am not going into that field anymore.
Word of advice to anyone, read the fine print...never trust an employer to explain anything, get it in writing and ask about every stinkin detail.

And I'm not advocating complaining and gossiping in the workplace. That is one of my biggest pet peeves is when people blab or complain about someone in the work place, it's not professional at all. Go to work, do what you need to do, and if you must complain...that's why you have family. ;-p (My poor husband)

I am exercise bi-polar

Well we officially did it, Mud on the Mountain!
We had arrived at the seven springs mountain resort, got out of the car, and immediately froze! My goodness it was freezing cold....and snowing/sleeting. So Scott gave me his extra shirt, and I went to pull it over my head while my teeth were clenched trying to keep myself from shivering. I guess with the anxiety of the race and the tightening of the muscles, due to the cold, made the perfect ingredients for a pinched nerve. So there I was with a pinched nerve about to start the race. But I had waited far too long to let it get to me and drop out. So I did the best I could. Great experience.
